Blessings and Other Services

Your home is an extension of you and your family, so holding a house blessing can help welcome positive energy into your dwelling and life.  These rituals are intended to protect the inhabitants of a house or apartment from misfortune, whether before moving in or to "heal" it after a traumatic or negative occurrence.  It's intention is protecting those who live in the house from hardships and trouble. 

Blessings can be done in a religious (Christian and non-Christian) or spiritual tradition. In Christianity, house blessing is an ancient tradition. It involves prayer calling upon God and Christ to bless and protect the home, the lighting of candles and the anointing of holy water and oil. A non-Christian ceremony is the same, just without the references to Jesus. 

A spiritual blessing involves prayer calling upon the positive energies of the universe and nature to cleanse and protect the home. It also involves oil, lighting candles and often the burning of sacred herbs and/or a presentation of the elements.

The blessing of vehicles generally involves prayer and anointing with water and oil.

Within either of these types of blessings, there are other rituals that can be performed in addition to the basic blessing.

If you contact me for a blessing, we will discuss over the phone what you are looking for (home or vehicle), what tradition (religious or spiritual) and the circumstances for the blessing. Is it a new home for you (moving in soon or just moved in), have lived there for awhile but never had one done, it has been a while since the previous blessing, or are you having specific concerns (feelings of negativity [arguing, illness], a traumatic/negative event [death, injury, significant fight], a significant change of life [divorce/separation], or just a feeling of  "bad luck"). I will then gather information about your home and property (size, number of windows & doors, etc), and we will discuss what type of rituals may best serve your needs. If you would like to meet in person to discuss these things, or wish me to see your home prior to the actual blessing, that can also be arranged.

Standard house/business blessing: $50 - $100, depending on the size of the property.

• Initial telephone conversation to determine your needs.
• Preparation of the prayers/blessings for the ceremony, as well as the consecration of the required materials (water, herbs, salt, etc).
• Provide details as to what is required on your end prior to the blessing.
• A brief phone call shortly before my arrival (or the day before) to walk you through what will happen.
• The blessing/cleansing ceremony.
• If you desire a full religious service for your family and/or friends, before or after the blessing: Add an additional $50.
• Travel up to 25 miles included (Always a little wiggle room). Beyond that, additional charges will apply. 
• Nearly all ceremonies require consecrated (also called blessed, holy, or sacred) water, oil, salt, and candle(s). As these items must be prepared by me, I will provide them at no additional cost. Exception, there will be an extra cost for larger long burning candles.
• Many ceremonies require consecrated herbs, resins or special oils. These items will be prepared and provided by me; however, there will be an additional cost.
• For a religious ceremony, any religious symbols/items you wish to have blessed and displayed in your home must be provided by you.
• For certain spiritual ceremonies the items involved must come from in and around your home, or have some connection/meaning to you. As such, you will need to provide those items.
• An accurate price quote will be provided once all the details are known.
• I will bless one vehicle at no extra charge at the time of the house blessing. Up to two additional vehicles can be blessed for $5 each.

Stand alone vehicle blessings: $25. Up to three additional vehicles can be blessed in the same visit for $5 each.

I also do blessing for gatherings of motorcycles and automobiles for riders clubs, owners groups, or car clubs. Contact me for details and costs.

I can conduct a prayer service, or deliver an invocation for your corporate meeting, convention, conference, seminar/presentation, or company social event/dinner. As well as for your fraternal organization, social club, or family gathering (reunion, anniversary, birthday, etc). The prayer/invocation will be personalized to your event. 

I can also provide prayer services or a full religious service (can include communion/Eucharist), for your elder care facility (assisted living, full-care/memory care) and well as independent living senior communities.
